Exercise
This is a little exercise that helps with control.
Control is the most important part of working for Spirit; you are in control at all times and if you don't like something that is happening to you or a Spirit ask them to go away.
Imagine your self surrounded in a balloon, this will be like your aura around you.
Imagine blowing up the balloon, every time you breath out, your balloon/aura will expand away from your body. Do this till your balloon completely covers the room, till you feel it reaches every corner.
Now imagine every time you breath in you bring the balloon closer to you until it is like a second skin, so it is close to your body.
What this exercise does is
close you down when it is not the proper time to work for Spirit e.g. you are in
school, work or on a bus. You can pick up someone’s thoughts or feelings
(this is intruding on
that person’s privacy if they have not asked to be read),
to stop this from happening or to stop it if it does happen is to bring your
aura in.
Psychically we work on the aura, so if you aura is expanded on a bus or in school you will mix with others auras, by bringing it in close means you will have to be in close contact with someone before you pick up anything. If Spirit come through when you are at work etc. ask them to come back later, and tell them when to come back or they may come back when it is still inconvenient.
This is an easy exercise. If you can visualise expanding the balloon, that is you actually expanding your aura.
It doesn't matter if you don't think you are doing this properly, it is the fact that you do the exercise.

Update
Another exercise that can be fun is a game to open your psychic aura and is good to play before opening a circle. You have to answer 'favourites' like, favourite animal, favourite colour, the difference is that you don't answer for yourself but for another person, this also helps you to learn to link in with others as well as open your aura.
An exercise with
aura/energy
and can be fun to show your friends lol. You take a pack of 'tarot'
or even 'playing cards'.
Take the pack in one hand and feel the
weight of the cards,
next then shuffle
the cards, do this for about 2 minutes. Then take the cards and weigh them
again. You should find the
cards will have changed weight, either being more heavy or less heavy than
when you
first weighed them. The reason for
this is due to your aura being
transferred onto the cards, so when
the card reader picks up the cards,
they link with your aura you left on the cards and are able
to do a reading. If you do tarot cards the change in weight of the cards can
tell you when the sitter has shuffled them enough.
To know if your aura is 'open' or 'closed', if is better to have your aura open when you are working, doing readings and closed when not. Take both hands with your palms facing towards each other, then slowly bring your hands in closer and closer. You should start to feel a resistance, energy bouncing back off the palms of your hand. The distance between your hands lets you know how open your aura is (will call this exercise 1). If use balloon exercise with this you can learn to open and close your aura at the right times. If you bring hands close together when doing (exercise 1), then you are 'closed' and if you wish to 'open' up your aura, you would blow the balloon out. Then do (exercise 1) again, put hands wide and bring together till resistance and should find they are further apart than before. If your aura is 'open' and you are in town, working and it is not the right time so need to 'close' yourself. To know if your aura is open, measure distance between hands, (exercise 1) and if your hands are far apart then you are 'open'. Imagine the balloon around you again and this time breathing in bringing the balloon closer to you. Do exercise 1 again and should find your palms come in closer together.
