Frequently Asked Questions

 Here are some questions people have asked.  I try to answer all questions, in most cases I look towards Spirit, other Mediums and books to find the answers.  I then write what I have learned and hope to make it simple and to give you enough facts so you can find your own answers.

Why always start and end with prayers?.

This just gives you extra protection and also helps open and close your channels, you can never say too many prayers.

Why do you not cross your legs or arms when meditating or working for Spirit?

Crossed legs and arms stop the energy flowing freely through your body it would also be uncomfortable to sit with your arms and legs crossed for a period of time and my stop blood circulation.  If the sitter has arms and legs crossed they are being defensive which will make the reading harder.

Spirit is around me and they make me scared, what can I do?

Ask Spirit to go away, if you don’t like anything or feel scared then ask Spirit to stop or go away.

How do I speak to my Spirit guides?

Just like you would speak to me, be polite, respectful and make appointments.  Spirit guides are just friends we haven’t met yet.  You can speak to Spirit through thought process; just think it and Spirit hear you.

What do you mean by make an appointment?

If you wanted to see me you would phone to arrange a time to come around, tell Spirit where and when you will be working so they can be there, they have other things to do as well.  If you can’t manage the appointment tell Spirit and give an alternative place and time don’t just tell them to go away as they will not know when it is alright to come back and may do so at an inconvenient time.

Why does everybody have Nuns, American Indians and Chinese for guides?

Nuns, American Indians and Chinese are and were very Spiritual people. Spirit also come back in a form that will make you most comfortable (Silver Birch in 'True Stories'), so if you assume that everyone has a Nun etc. then your guide will probably come to you as one of them.

Am I psychic?

Everyone is born psychic but are often put down until they forget e.g. a child tells you they can see their grandmother and their grandmother is dead, they are likely to be told ‘Don’t be stupid’ and eventually stop telling anyone.

Why did my friend and I get the same reading?

If you go for a reading with a friend, your friend went to school with you, got engaged, had a big 18^th birthday party, lived in the same area, knew the same friends, got married and had children all about the same time as you – then yes you are likely to get told some of the same things because you have had the same experiences.  If you are related to the person getting a reading then some of the reading will be the same because you are connected.  Also remember that two people can get the same reading but it means something completely different to each person.

Are there evil Spirits?

There are lower vibrations out there but like humans they cheat, lie, scare people and are just not very nice.  (I don’t believe in evil Spirits and I feel Spirit is only as evil as man.)  There are other things that can harm us though.

Is meditation/circle better with or without music?

This is personal choice, which way do you feel makes you more relaxed.  I would say try both and it can be advantageous if you can do both ways.

I trust Spirit but I don’t trust me?

You are Spirit so if you don’t trust yourself (which is Spirit) then you don’t trust Spirit.

I am being told to work one way and my guides show me another, who do I listen to?

This is hard.  No matter how genuine you teacher/mentor is they are only human and are able to misinterpret information.  I would listen to what makes you feel comfortable, if you get negative emotions then it is wrong for you, if you get positive emotions then go with it.  (Personal I have learned to listen to my guides, I was being held back by people that were meant to help me.  It didn’t feel right but I didn’t know enough to realise what was happening, eventually I just listened to my guides and they have never led me wrong.)

How do I know if it is Spirit or me?

If it is something you wouldn’t normally say or do then it is less likely to be you e.g. if I got a condition connected to the knee, I do not have any problems with my knees so it can not be mine so it must be someone in Spirit or someone else on the material.

Does ‘laying on of hands’ work (Spiritual healing including reiki)?

My experience and others I have spoke to say that it does work.  There are times when it does not work but this is because of divine intervention.

Do you have to meditate?

No you don’t have to meditate, some people don’t but personally I believe that meditation is very important for your Spiritual and material growth.  All of the people I have come across do meditate.

Why did I lose my baby?

Some Spirits/souls only need to learn what it is like in the womb, when they have learned all their lessons and then can move on to a higher level.  Cot deaths can be for the same reason.

Why should I talk to my guides they don’t talk to me?

You have never met me so if we met you might say ‘Hello’, next time we met ‘Hello, nice day’ and so on by the end of the week we would be friends, then after a month best friends, it is the same with Spirit.  Guides are friends we have forgotten and we need to get to know each other again.

What happens to the Spirit when someone commits suicide?

Some people believe that the Spirit goes into purgatory.  The Spirits I have come across that have committed suicide have all come back and are not any different from other Spirits that have passed over.  I believe that the Spirit would have to come back down (reincarnated) and do the same lessons all over again.

Are my loved ones happy in Spirit?

Spirit are happy but get upset at the pain their family go through when they pass or have problems.   They feel no pain and can do what they wish to.

Can your gifts be taken away?

Yes but it would take something drastic for this to happen.  If there is a reason they can stop you developing further but we can't go back, so will stay at the same stage of development till we are back on the right path.

Are tarot cards and ribbons etc. tools?

Yes.  Most people can work without them.

What happens if you abuse your gift?

(I have spent a lot of time over this question). In extreme cases Spirit can take your gift away but what I feel is that if you abuse your gifts or are not a nice person then you stay at the same level until you realise what you are doing and go back on the right path.

Who can become a Spiritualist?

Anybody.  It doesn’t matter what religion or how disabled you are.  Looking into this I have found that Spiritualism has some of the same beliefs as other religions.

Is Spiritualism a religion?

Officially no, although I and others like me think of Spiritualism as a religion.

Should you only meditate in the dark?

No, it is good to meditate in the dark but it is better if you can meditate both ways as you may have to work for Spirit during the day, outdoors or in a hall which is lit.

Should you only meditate in the quiet?

No.  Learn to meditate with noise and without noise the reason for this is that (I feel) meditation can go deeper in the quiet but when is everything ever totally silent (especially in church).

Can I meditate or do trance on my own?

Yes, the worst that will happen is you fall asleep. This has a lot to do with how much you trust your guides.

A medium told me I would be a …… is it true?

Mediums may be genuine when they get this information from Spirit but Spirit try a lot of ways to find which way we work best, if the way Spirit want you to go doesn’t work their plans for you may change.  Keep the information but don’t stick too rigidly to it as you might not reach your full potential.  Only the person giving the message can answer what they got from Spirit.

How do I know if a circle is right for me?

The only way to tell if a circle is right for you is by going as a visitor.  If you feel good emotions then it might be right for you but if you get bad emotions then you should definitely stay away.

I am scared I will attract evil Spirits?

Like attracts like, if you are good hearted you will only get good hearted spirit.  So if you are not evil, evil Spirits will not be attracted to you.

Can Spirit hurt me?

Spirit and other things can only harm you if you let them.  I have heard of people being hurt and have seen it happen on TV but I have not come across any Spirit that has done any harm.  (I had this discussion at AFC and my tutor agreed that she had never seen or heard anyone coming to any harm).  Like attracts like so if good person no need to worry.  There are other things out there that can harm you though.

Are ghost, poltergeists (etc) and Spirit the same?

No.

One book tells me what to do and then another tells me another way completely different?

Both are right but what is right for once person might not be right for another, it is what you feel is right.  Don’t just accept books or people at face value, take what you feel is right (for you) out of the book or person and disregard the rest.

I can’t understand the book that translates the tarot cards?

Throw the book away, it just confuses you. (Read ‘Tarot cards’)

Why do you have circle at the same day and time every week?

Spirit like familiarity (e.g. same seats, clothes, time, day, place etc).

How many do you need for a circle?

Between 2 -12. I feel 5-6 is comfortable but go with what you feel is right for your group.

I want to develop but don’t know how or where to go?

Well you are on the right site.  This site is to help you develop on your own or with my help. (Read 'how do I start developing')  I also have a chat room were you can speak to me, we hold circle three times a week there and is open to anyone.

What do Spirit do when they pass over?

They can do anything they like.  Spirit are directed to what lessons they still need learn but do not have to obey.  Spirit can stay with their loved ones on the material if they wish, but eventually they will have to go back to their lessons so they can move on.

Do people in Spirit change?

No, they come back the way you remember them.

Can you speak to my …..?

No one can guarantee that a certain Spirit will come through but if we ask Spirit in advance (make an appointment) there is more change of getting the link.

What are my guides like?

Like attracts like, they are the same as you even the humour is the same.

I feel Spirit with me but my ... says they are with them?

Spirit can be in more than one place at a time, they are not bound by our physics or ideas of time and space.

I was told I would ... but it already happened?

In Spirit time doesn't exist the same so a message can be given in a past tense when it has not happened yet or information can be given as present or future and it is in the past.
