Is It Spirit Or Me

The question I get asked about most is, ‘Is it Spirit or me’. This is common when you first start in Spiritualism and everyone feels the same. Being able to tell the difference comes with time and experience but here are a few bits and pieces that may help you.
Learn to know yourself; this includes the bad point as well as the good. You have to be totally honest and you will understand why when I go into more detail.
What I feel can make a difference to your Mediumship is giving Spirit a word e.g. ‘May I come to you’ that starts the reading until ‘God bless’ which closes the link, which will let Spirit know you have finished with that person and are going onto someone else or that you will be finished completely for that night which is done by a prayer. This helps if you have to change your link; some mediums find it hard to change links.
While working between ‘May I’ to ‘God bless’ you are Spirit, everything you do including sneezing, itches, biting fingernails everything is Spirit.
I do not bite my finger nails, one day my gran came through and I started biting my nails. I do not bite my nails so it could not be me plus I was giving a reading (may I’ to ‘God bless’) so that confirms the information.
I have a
bad knee and if working for Spirit and I get a knee condition then how do I know
who it belongs too. First if I am doing a reading (‘may I’ to ‘God bless’) then
it must be Spirit but I don’t feel confident and need to be sure, so what would
you do? Ask Spirit to take the pain away and then bring it back again
because everyone knows that you can not just take material pain away and bring
it back again.

I would never say ‘Dear’ or ‘Love’ so if I say those words especially when doing a reading, it must be Spirit.
Use everything from the way you walk and talk a twitch of the eye, a pain in the arm.
If you want to know if Spirit is around arrange a feeling to let you know you are right e.g. I get a cold shiver down me when I get something right, I know everyone gets the shiver (someone walking over your grave) but with Spirit it is cold, although this changes from person to person, you might arrange for your ear to burn or a tickle to the neck, decide for yourself what signal you and Spirit should have but remember to tell Spirit what you choose.
You think Spirit is with you but doubt yourself, well if you sit in a room you don’t always think Spirit is there with you, so there must be something there to make you think Spirit is there. Otherwise why do we not feel like we are being watched all the time, unless we are being watched? So instead of 'I think', say 'I know' or 'I feel'.
This gives you an idea how to know if it is ‘Spirit or you’ and it might give you some points to think about and may help you until you don’t have to ask the question. ‘Is it me or is it Spirit.
I hope it is not too confusing if you still have problems let me know.
These are only guide lines.
