Relatives or Guides?

 Who is best to help with your Spiritual development, guides or relatives?

This question arose recently when speaking to a friend. I thought a lot about my answer and as usual spoke to my guides and other Mediums. This is what I came up with.

People feel more comfortable with relatives who come through to help and most feel they don’t know their guides. I feel this is wrong, we can not remember being friends with our guides. I also believe in reincarnation and believe we have been in past lives with our guides but this is something you will have to decide for yourself.

I feel that starting with relatives to help your development can be a good thing; it gives you the basis for trusting Spirit and lets you become comfortable with Spirit. Relatives and friends can help you in lots of ways and they may now be higher Spirits but guides have chosen to help us develop, we have talked to (what will become) our guides and told them what we want from our life and what paths we wish to take and have discussed what would be the best way for us to work together and the best way for them to help us. Our guides have went and learned what they need to teach us for our material journey, (Spirit are just like us they need to learn as well). If there is more than one guide (which is often the case) they decide who is best to teach you, so one will teach clairvoyance another guide will teach you healing. 

Just think of school, when you were at primary school you had one teacher who taught you basics e.g. reading, writing etc then when you are older and at high school you have more than one teacher because one may specialise in English and the other specialises in Maths and they are better at teaching their specialised subject. Now on the same principle as school a relative can teach you at home and give the basics such as reading and writing but when you reach high school age your relative might know many things but they can not give the same advice and guidance as someone who is a specialist in that field and has been away to train how to teach that subject.

Some older Mediums use their relatives because they are comfortable with them and if you feel this way then stay with your relatives. I have met Mediums who don’t know their guides and don’t care, they trust unconditionally and this is harder than it sounds so I have a great respect for these Mediums. (I’m too nosey).

My personal opinion is that I regret the time I didn’t know my guides. They make me laugh and cry, they lift me up, they bring me love and understanding and they have also got me into trouble. I feel I would have missed out on so much if I had not took the time to listen and learn what they were teaching me and they have taught me much materially and Spiritually. I trust and love my guides and they have never, never let me down.

My advice on this problem would be to try both relatives and guides and see which feels right for you.
