Ribbons
Ribbons are used as a teaching aid and normally are only seen in churches and circles. Ribbons are the best place to start in your development.
Ribbons are just a variation of working with auras. Instead of looking at someone's aura they pick colours. The colours they pick usually correspond with their aura.
Ribbons are exactly what they say, coloured ribbons on a rod or pole of some kind.
These are basic translations for the colours, what I call 'back to basics', so if you do the ribbons and can't get the meaning you can go back to basics. I only recommend doing this when necessary.
These are my basics you can either make your own or use mine.

Colour Basics
White Spirit
Black Changes
Red Anger
Blue Healing
Yellow Calmness
Pink Love
Orange Frustration
Green Learning
Purple Spirituality
Brown Nature
The most important thing to remember is that the colour changes meaning every time you do them.
Basics only give you a guide to what the colours might mean e.g. blue means healing but you might have light blue, dark blue, turquoise, navy blue etc and you still have to find out what the different shades of blue mean. Only use the basics if you colour and don't get any information about the colour other wise give the first thing you think of.
Offer the ribbons to the person getting a reading, make them choose between 3-5 colours, to start pick 3 until you feel more comfortable. Place the ribbons over the rod so they are on the opposite side to the rest.
Take one ribbon at a time, run it between your fingers till you pick up the vibration. Do each ribbon one at a time then take all the ribbons together to finish? If you get stuck go back to basics (you can also ask the person to touch the ribbons again).
The best way to do a reading is to say the first thing that comes into your head when you touch the ribbon.

Good luck, it is an easy way to build up your psychic energy and fairly easy to do.
You can use cards that are coloured or even crayons, make sure you have a variety of colours.
If you want to make your own ribbons it is simple. First you need different colours or ribbons all about the same length, you can get these from any drapery/material shop, you may also get a small rod and stoppers for the ends, if you can't find the rod and stoppers then most good craft shops should be able to help.
With a piece of material, size depending on the length and width of the rod, place the ribbons onto one end of the material, make sure you overlap the ribbons (keep the colours together e.g. red, yellows, blues but make sure you put the colours light then dark this helps them to stand out more). Fold the material over and sew the ribbons into the seam so the rod can be pushed through the material with the ribbons and the stoppers put on the end.
Hint - Try gluing the ribbons onto the material before you sew to keep the ribbons in place.
Up date
You can use wonder web to fix the ribbons to the material and sew it after. In the chat room we do 'colour readings' which is based on ribbons.
These are only guide lines.
