Something To Think About
Here are some of my favourite stories and verses. I hope you like them as much as I do. I have also included a few of my own verses from Spirit.
For those who are interested here is a link to a site about Helen Duncan. The lady was a pioneer in the Spiritual movement and thanks to this lady we are able to be so open about Spiritualism.
Friend
When you are strong,
He will walk with you.
When you feel down,
He will stand by you.
When you can’t walk,
He will carry you.
When you can’t see,
He will show you.
When you can’t hear,
He will speak for you.
When you are weak,
He will give you strength.
When you can’t cry,
He will cry for you.

He will guide you.

He will Love you

I never believed in Angels,
I didn’t believe what they told me,
Some times I even scoffed.
Until one day I met you,
And you shined above them all,
Never questioning,
Always understanding,
You really helped a lot.
When things got most desolate,
You helped me find the light.
You are my Guardian Angel,
And thanks is not enough.
Angels aren’t all in heaven,

Footprints
One night a man had a dream that he was walking on the beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life. For Each scene he noticed two sets
Of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, the other the Lord.
When the last scene of his life floated before him, he looked at the
Foot prints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life
There was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at
The very lowest and saddest times in his life.
This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it.
‘Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way.
But during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why, when I needed you most, you would leave me.
The Lord replied ‘My precious, precious child I love you
And would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering,
When you see only one set of footprints, it was then I carried you.
Prayer Of Saint Francis Of Assisi
Lord make me an instrument of thy peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon.
Where there is doubt, faith.
Where there is despair, hope.
Where there is darkness, light.
Where there is sadness, enjoy.
Oh divine master, grant that I man not so much seek.
To be understood as to understand.
To be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive.
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.
It is in dying to self that we are born to eternal life.
Old Story
There was a town which was getting flooded by torrential rains.
There was a man of the clergy and as the water got higher a car went by. The man in the car stopped and shouted to the clergy; get in the car I will take you away from the flood.
The clergy looked back and said ‘No, God will save me’.
Time went by and the water rose some more and the clergy was at the window of the church on the first floor of the church. A man came by in a boat and told the clergy to get in the boat and he would take him away from the floods. The clergy replied ‘No, God will save me’.
The rain still came down and now the clergy was on the roof of his church when a helicopter came by and offered to take the clergy to safety and still the clergy replied ’No, God will save me’.
The clergy died and was standing in front of God. ‘God why did you not save me, I believed in you’.
God turned around and said ‘but I sent you a car, a boat and a helicopter.
When Tomorrow Starts Without Me
When tomorrow starts without me,
and I'm not there to see;
If the sun should rise and find your eyes,
all filled with tears for me;
I wish so much you wouldn't cry,
the way you did today,
while thinking of the many things,
we didn't get to say.
I know how much you love me,
as much as I love you,
and each time that you think of me,
I know you'll miss me too;
But when tomorrow starts without me,
please try to understand,
that an Angel came and called my name,
and took me by the hand,
and said my place was ready,
in heaven far above,
and that I'd have to leave behind,
all those I dearly love.
But as I turned to walk away,
a tear fell from my eye,
for all life, I'd always thought,
I didn't want to die.
I had so much to live for,
so much yet to do,
it seemed almost impossible,
that I was leaving you.
I thought of all the yesterdays,
the good ones and the bad,
I thought of all the love we shared,
and all the fun we had.
If I could relive yesterday,
just even for awhile,
I'd say goodbye and kiss you
and maybe see you smile.
But then I fully realized,
that this could never be,
for emptiness and memories,
would take the place of me.
And when I thought of worldly things,
I might miss come tomorrow,
I thought of you, and when I did,
my heart was filled with sorrow.
But when I walked through heaven's gates,
I felt so much at home.
When God looked down and smiled at me,
from His great golden throne,
He said, "This is eternity,
and all I've promised you".
Today for life on earth is past,
but here it starts anew.
I promise no tomorrow,
but today will always last,
and since each day's the same day,
there's no longing for the past.
But you have been so faithful,
so trusting and so true.
Though there were times you did some things,
you knew you shouldn't do.
But you have been forgiven
and now at last you're free.
So won't you take my hand
and share my life with me?
So when tomorrow starts without me,
don't think we're far apart,
for every time you think of me,
I'm right here, in your heart.
