These are true story's about Spirit and how they relate to the material.

A medium named Maurice Barbanell had a guide called 'Silver Birch'. The gentleman for years believed that Silver Birch was a Native American Indian. His guide let him believe this for years until the time came when he found out his guide was a higher Spiritual being.

Spirit come to us in any form that will be easy for us to accept. Like Maurice if you believe your guide is a Red Indian he will come to you as a Red Indian.

I got a phone call from someone I knew and they told me of the experience she had with a so called 'Spiritualist' (I don't mean to criticise other mediums but what happened here and in other case upsets me). As I was new to Spirit I took a friend who was a medium with me. My friend is smaller than me (and I'm small, 5'1''), she was heavy built and I was slim, she was much older and could have been taken for my Mother and we were 'Ghost busting'. We arrived and while having a drink of coffee she explained that the 'Spiritualist' had told her there was an evil Spirit with her and would get violent and only the lady of the house could get rid of the Spirit. She was so upset. My friend went to the bathroom, the lady of the house was putting the cups away, when she came back and whispers 'Is your friend alright, she is talking to herself', and I explained my friend gets her best contact in the bathroom. There was no evil Spirit but my friend met three men (Spirit) in the bathroom.

Even people who call themselves 'Spiritualists' aren't always Spiritual. A medium has responsibility and if there was evil the medium should have done something not leave it to a novice.

For years I have been asking Spirit for direction but never seem to get an answer. I have been helping others develop while waiting to find my direction. A few days ago I realised that I was meant to teach, which is what I have been doing.

Spirit won't answer you if you already have the answer and sometimes we can not see what is right in front of our nose.

A friend had a young grandchild who was very Spiritual. Spirit were around the young lady a lot, never more so than one night.

Jenna was asleep in bed one night only to be awoken by someone tickling her feet. She looked around still half asleep but could see no one. As she sleepily got out of bed she went to her mother's room and woke her up to tell what had happened. The mother reassured the child and took her back to bed, when they reached the bedroom door they saw flames rising from the bed. Her electric blanket had been faulty.

Spirit look after and protect us.

Being new to Spiritualism I was slightly paranoid about them being around all the time. I then told them not to come into the bathroom when I was on the toilet. The house we were in at the time had a shower and bath, so my guide being my guide stood in the shower, you could see his outline through the smoky glass the main problem was when you were in the shower he would turn the shower off.

Spirit have a sense of humour (my early Mediumship was like 'Ghost' the film). Dee.

Early in my Mediumship I did not always realise  what I was getting.

A friend was in our house and answered his mobile. I got a strong feeling but couldn't explain what. I told my friend to stay away from the person on the phone, although I don't know why I begged him to listen. The next night he came back to our house and looked deathly white, worried I asked what had happened. He had arrived home the night before and the young man off the phone was waiting for him, they had made arrangements to go somewhere in the car the next day but because of what I had said he had changed his mind. Just before arriving at my house that night his friend had phoned him. He was on a bus going home. His car had rolled over the central reservation on the motor way and rolled down into a ditch on the opposite side of the road, the passenger side had been completely flattened. My friend would have been in the passenger seat.

A healer at the beginning of his development didn't feel he was doing any good, he couldn't tell if he was actually healing and this worried him. Due to his upset Spirit allowed him to see blue flashes of light come from his fingers to let him know he was healing.

After a while he realised it didn't matter if he did not feel he had been healing someone and that the lights were for his benefit.

Ribbons, tarot cards, ruins are all tools and are there to help us learn.

A friend use to come to me when they thought they were pregnant, it saved on the test kits.

One time they came back to me. Accusingly they said 'You told me I would be pregnant in January and it is now May?' I looked over at her and waited a second then replied 'Did I tell you what year?'.

People can be too quick to blame Spirit if anything goes wrong. Dee.

One time when watching a friend doing transfiguration I felt they were attempting to try levitation, the lady had been after this for some time. The lady was not very petite and to show me they were levitating the lady they showed me a crane lifting her. She wasn't amused when I told her.

Spirit have a sense of humour and can get you into trouble.

One night I was arguing with my husband in bed. I turned over and thought 'What a pig'; the next second spirit showed me  a pigs head on a platter with an apple in it.

Now every time I see a pigs head I think of my husband.

We were told off Spirit we would get a new house, the lease on the old one was up and we had no where to go. Spirit said we would have a new house by April as that is when we had to be out by. Things went wrong and no house appeared. We had to go into a homeless unit. Months went by and still no house. September arrived and we finally got our house. When we moved in we had found out that the old tenants had problems with there new house and should have moved out in April.

Spirit can not control material because we all have free choice. Dee.

My son was getting scared by Spirit so I went and asked them to stop. As one of my pet hates is Spirit in my hall (long story) I decided to send them to my daughters room. Things were fine and peaceful for a while. As the weeks progressed my daughter was constantly being told off for leaving her hi-fi on, although she protested that she had kept turning it off when she finished. One day she walked up to me and asked 'Is there someone in my room?' Her father and I both laughed as he knew what I had done. She was not too happy when I told her. She then went back to her room and told them to stop turning her hi-fi on and off, to which they obliged.

Spirit don't mean to scare us and if we are not happy with anything Spirit do all we need to do is ask them to stop.

I had just moved into a new house at the top of a block and didn't know anyone apart from to say 'Hello' in passing. I began to notice Spirit outside a neighbours door but decided to ignore him. This carried on for months so I told spirit if they wanted me to speak to my neighbour, make them come to me. Time passed and things stayed the same until one day while walking up the stairs the Spirit made my head go light and I nearly fell over (I found out later this was how he passed). I had had enough and got together all my courage and walked up to the door and knocked. A girl I had seen in passing answered the door, I took the bull by the horns and quickly came out with 'Are your lights flashing in your living room and someone keeps knocking at the door but when you get there, there is no one there? She replied 'yes'. I didn't know what to do or say next and thought I had better explain myself before she thought I was completely mad. 'I'm a Spiritualist and .........' before I could finish she replied 'Ohh, I know all about that I use to go to a Spiritualist Church.'

Spirit never lead you wrong even if you don't know it at the time. Trust Spirit. I do not give readings to people without permission but there can be exceptions.

A friend of mine was working on the rostrum going around different  churches. One particular night she was going to a church and was thinking to herself. Harmless? The night before she had seen other mediums working and as we do sometimes she thought 'I wish I could do clairvoyance as well as ....' or 'I wish I could do philosophy like ....'

During the service everything was going fine and she started doing her address then gave clairvoyance. Half way through the service she stopped speaking, Spirit had left her and so had to sit down and let someone else finish the service.

If you don't get anything from Spirit then you must stop. Spirit are just like us and can be hurt or offended. My friend had no other problems and she had learned her lesson, that no one else is better or worse than you, they are just different.

I use to sit in circle for other peoples development. We use to have a lady with the voice of an angel and she would sing to bring spirit closer. One night while we were singing a Red Indian gentleman came through, he had been to the circle many times before. He came forward and spoke, we listened with interest for the wisdom he normally brought through. He was short and to the point 'You did not sing The Black Hills Of Dakota', then all the Red Indians left the circle.

Spirit have feelings as well. Just because they are in Spirit doesn't change what or who they are (e.g. if they were temperamental on the material then they will be the same in Spirit). They came back the next week so they were not too offended although after that we always made sure to sing The Black Hills Of Dakota, just in case.

This story may be a bit upsetting so I will keep it vague. A girl got a reading, she wanted to know about her relationships. The reading was accurate but did not give her the answers she was after but there was nothing drastic. The girl went to a party and was grabbed by a boy she knew, he had been drinking and he tried to make her go with him but luckily friends, including the person who's party it was, saw what was happening and went to her rescue. She was not harmed but was very shaken and upset.

Why did she not get warned? We all have lessons to learn and Spirit can not interfere.

I gave a friend a reading and came to the number14. I went back and asked Spirit for more but nothing came. I turned to my sitter and informed them 'I have the number 14 but can not understand it, I will leave it with you'. A few weeks later the sitter came back smiling, she informed me that she had been to the bingo and had won about £2500 and had called on the number 14.

If you don't understand, say what you see or give what you get, it is for the sitter to understand.

A developing medium got a call from a woman who was very upset about a spirit in her house, she described a spirit who was a man with a knife and she had fled for her life. The lady being new to Spiritualism phoned another Medium who was more experienced and they went to investigate. When they arrived they went straight to the room the Spirit was in without being told. As they walked in they noticed the Spirit that had caused the woman so much distress. It was her Gran sitting in a chair smoking a cigarette.

Our imagination can sometimes get the better of us. The woman was scared because she did not understand what Spirit were trying to show her. Spirit never mean to scare us.

I have a brother that lives in Montrose and I live in Dundee. One day I decided to phone my brother. When I got through a man answered and I did not recognise his voice so I asked for 'Simon', 'He's not in just now, can I help I'm his dad'. I thought the man was joking 'Your not his dad' I replied. 'Yes, I am he said. I thought I had rang the wrong number so I asked again 'I am after Simon, Simon Smith, my brother', 'Simon Smith is out and he hasn't got a sister and I should know I'm his father'.

A person with the same name as my brother had the same phone number the only difference was I forgot to put in the code before the number.

A Spiritualist church full of mediums, clairvoyants, healers etc. A medium from the church died suddenly and no one had any idea it would happen.

Mediums don't get told everything.
