Walkthrough Meditation
This way of meditating can be used for beginners to the more learned of you out there. This is also good for control.
This can take a bit of
preparation if you don’t have a tape. Once you have made a tape you don’t need
to make another one, although you could do more than one tape with different
journeys.
If you don’t have a walkthrough meditation tape you can make your own, either by finding a book with a walkthrough meditation in it so you can read it onto a tape (make sure your voice is soft), or by making up your own.
To make your own tape, record your own journey in a soft voice. Take yourself through the breathing exercise then go into your journey.
You may start on a beach or in the country; here are two examples of what you might say:-
You are on the beach, (be detailed) you feel the sand and sun, you walk to the waters edge, you can hear the sea gulls. There is a boat waiting for you, someone is in the boat, you can’t make them out very well but as you get closer they become clearer. You finally become clear and it is your guide, you get into the boat and you speak to him (leave pause so you have time to speak), you might ask their name or if you have met before. You row the boat away from shore to an Island of white light completely covering your horizon. You land the boat and go onto the Island, there are many people here, some are clearer than others, and you might see your Mother, brother and people you don’t recognise. You feel the
love coming forward...................
You are in a field, the sun is on your back, you can feel the grass on your bare
feet, and the grass is damp with morning dew. You walk towards the hill taking
in the flowers and animals as you go past, notice the colour of the flowers with
little droplets of dew running down the stem, you hear birds in the ba
ck
ground. As you walk up the hill you see a forest, walking towards the forest you
feel the wind gently blowing against your face, as you walk through the trees
you see a clearing, in the clearing is a house, your ideal house (describe). As
you approach the house you see a gate leading to the door of the house, you open
the gate and approach the door; you knock but get no reply. You try the door
handle, the handle turns and the door is open. You see a hall way with stairs
leading to the left, as you enter the hall you notice the wallpaper is a warm
orange, the colour makes you feel warm and peaceful, you walk down the hall and
come across another door leading to the right, turning you see the door is pink
hinting that love is behind this door. You open the door and someone is inside,
as you look closer you can
see who it is………
You can go anywhere you want and do anything you want, let your spirit guide you. Give yourself time to do any task e.g. walking up a hill might take 20 seconds, so you would be quiet for 20 seconds then continue from where you left off.
Finnish the walkthrough by coming back the way you went e.g. on a beach, taking a boat to an island – get back into the boat, row back and land on the beach. The tape should then tell you to come back slowly, moving your fingers and toes, don’t open eyes till last.
Make the tape about 30 minutes long, always start and finish with a prayer for extra protection.
Don’t worry if you don’t get answers to your questions straight away (remember spirit can talk to you in thought form), they will come with time; the more you do this kind of meditation the stronger the answers become? If you don’t see pictures or feel anything still go through with the meditation, the images and feelings should become stronger with time (although not all mediums see or feel anything). If your mind goes in a different direction from the tape, just go with it e.g. (tape) you are walking up a hill – you might already be at the top of the hill or (tape) you are on a beach – you feel you are in a field, stay in the field.
This walkthrough is to be used with ‘Meditation’ page. The only difference between a walkthrough meditation and normal meditation is the tape, instead of music and birds you have someone telling you what to do and where to go plus the walkthrough takes 30mins and normal meditation takes 10-20mins.
Enjoy your journey; if you have any problems just let me know.
I have a tape for those of you out there who have trouble making your own, please contact me.
These are only guide lines.
